403(b) Tax Shelter & ROTH 403(b) Plans

Employees may opt to participate in a 403(b) Tax-Sheltered Annuity (TSA) Plan, which is a retirement plan offered by public schools. These annuities are funded by elective deferrals made through salary reduction agreements. Elective Deferrals are amounts designated by the employee to be deducted from their salary for contribution to the TSA. The elective deferral is typically excludable from the employee's gross income.

The IRS sets forth the Maximum Allowable Contribution (MAC) Limits for each tax year. For 2025, the base contribution limit has increased by $500 moving the base limit from $23,000 to $23,500. The age based catch up amount remains unchanged at $7,500. The employer limit has increased from $69,000 to $70,000.
